About Us
We are a small, family-owned business, operating in the UK.
Ecozo started with the idea of making eco-friendly shopping easy and accessible in the UK. While building our business, we did everything we could think of to make our processes as eco-conscious as we would, from finding suppliers who shared our ethics, to using Shopify, who power their shops with 100% renewable energy. We believe that leading an eco-friendly lifestyle should be simple and affordable – which is why we make sure all of our products are durable and recyclable.
All of our products are made in the UK, from small businesses. All of the small businesses we buy from have at least one of these qualities:
- Women-owned
- To be truly sustainable, businesses also have to be socially responsible. By supporting women-owned businesses, we are promoting gender equality, empowering women, and investing in sustainable practices. Many women-owned businesses prioritise eco-conscious practises, and by supporting their work, we can promote gender equality, which can help dismantle the gender wage-gap and create a more equitable environment where everyone can succeed, regardless of their gender.
- Organic
- Buying organic products reduces packaging and waste, uses less chemicals, saves water and lowers energy use and emissions.
- Made from recycled materials
- Products made from recycled materials reduces the amount of natural resources extracted from our planet, reduces waste, saves energy and supports a circular economy for resources.
- Handmade
- Similarly to supporting women-owned businesses, by supporting suppliers who handmake their products, we promote them over mass-produced alternatives that have negative impacts both on the environment and on the economy. Choosing handmade over mass-produced, or dropshipped products lowers the climate cost of materials and of the fuel needed to transport goods.
Shopify’s Sustainability:
Shopify is a Canadian business, and they run their offices with 100% wind energy. They also are a 100% carbon neutral platform, using Google Cloud’s data servers. Google matches 100% of the energy consumed by Google Cloud with renewable energy.
On top of this, they run the Shopify Sustainability Fund, which contributes at least $5 million annually to support reversing climate change.
